DieNoSystem or 'The No System' seeded in August 2006 after founding members - guitarist/singer/songwriter Nathan Dubblestyne(The Daily Fix) and musician Jay Owen(Henry'sVolunteer/Life @ 90/ DeadPool/ShitLoadsOfFuckAll/The Gerry Mander Trio) - had a chance meeting at a gas station in Norwood, Ontario Canada. .............
Pete Newman (Circus Act/Grounded Imbalance/The Gerry Mander Trio) was immediately placed on bass as this marked Pete and Jay's official leaving of The Gerry Mander Trio with singer/songwritter Denis Goggin(Freddy and The Romantics/Grounded Imbalance/The Gerry Mander Trio/Cache); and the end of Nathan's Daily Fix. After a month of writing the original DieNoDemos - 'Fear of The End', 'Another Day', 'We Are The Ones' and 'Bare Bones' - they introduced John 'Toby' Gerow (Aftermath/Necropolis/Life@90) on lead guitar. DNS then recorded and released a 4 song demo EP on Thanksgiving weekend in October '06 at the Norwood fair and instantly sold out of the initial 50 copies. Hours after this debut performance Pete boarded a plane for B.C. and was never seen again. DieNoSystem decided to move ahead working on new songs through the winter of 06/07 sans bassist. Chris Miller(Necropolis/Cache) was added on bass in the early spring but a career change ended up in his leaving the band a few months into sessions. Stepping in next on bass was Chris Millar (weird eh?), who was DieNoSystem's bass player until their demise. The arrangement of Nathan(guitar/vox) Toby(guitar) Chris II(bass) and Jay(drums/vox) debuted at a battle of the bands in June of '07 taking first prize that night. The following week they played a follow up show with some friend's. At this second performance with this line-up DieNoSystem released two new singles 'The Worst Is Over' and 'Unfinished Bizness' accompanied with the previously released 4 songs, selling out another initial run of 40 CD's that night. This performance was Toby's last gig with the band and DieNosystem has gone on as a trio since June '07. In late summer of 2007 a good friend Trash The Freak secured DieNoSystem a soundtrack deal with Jim O'Rear(The Deepening/Day of The Dead/Star Trek 4) who was then starting post production on the direct to DVD movie SCREAM FARM. Trash then secured another movie gig in October of 2007 for DieNoSystem to appear in the indie film 'REEL ZOMBIES' coming to the screen in 2008. The movie will be premiering at independant film festivals world wide. And this was the end of Die No System. |
